1. The Broad Art museum

2. Norton Simon Museum

11 000 Art objects: paintings and sculptures of different times and art schools are exhibited there. The museum has permanent collections and temporary ones. In this museum you will find Asian sculptures as well as Minimal art and Abstract artworks.

The museum was created by a collector, who had been buying the artworks by famous artists for 30 years. Among the artworks you will find Cezanne`s “Tulips in vase”. In addition the museum itself is surrounded by the garden with sculptures and installations.

3. Hammer Museum

The Museum exhibits the original artworks of local and foreign artists. It has a huge collection of drawings on paper that are made by Renaissance or Modern painters. The Hammer Museum encourages contemporary artists and made a permanent collection of paintings, media art and sculptures by the Contemporary art representatives. For example “The Battle of Atlanta” by Kara Walker and Untitled 2007 by Mark Bradford.

The owner of the Hammer Museum created it to show his collection of the canvas by French artists but later the collection was supplemented with other projects.

4. Museum of Contemporary Art

The Museum is rather flexible in its collections. It exhibits the works of contemporary artists. There are 7500 modern artworks in the permanent collection. The founders aso encourage young painters to create art and provide them with scholarships.

5. Los Angeles Center for Digital Art

Digital art is a comparatively new area, which is developing quickly. The purpose of the Museum is to popularize all kinds of digital art, including digital pictures, video, sculptures, as the founders believe that digital characterizes contemporary art. The Gallery makes open exhibitions, where some of the artists may present their works. It attracts young digital artists to exhibit their works, you will find a lot of special works there.
